the clients originally planned a Spanish home, but decided to have the architect design a modern home, after visiting his residence. An "abstacted" Spanish palette of materials was developed by the designer to compliment the clients collection of art and artifacts. Custom blended terrazzo floors, corten steel firplace surround color integrated plaster walls and concrete counters, blend with the warm wood, leather furnishings, and gold accents

glass stairwell

The glass stairwell affords great views of the pool and canyon, and increases the sense of the overall two story space

open plan livingroom and dinng room

the low italian sofa preserves views onto the pool and canyon views. A simple Armani coffee table and extensible dining chairs sit on a handwoven wool carpet. The floating light fixture with steel suppoerts was custom designed by Jorie Clark for the space, along with a companion fixture in the powder room

the clients Spanish Colonial oil painting of the Virgin of Charcas inspired the material choices, including the rustic leather Mario Bellini Cab chairs
